Human skull discovered on motorway sliproad
Forensic experts are investigating after a human skull was found on a motorway sliproad, police have said.
Police said the origins of the skull were not yet known and that the eastbound sliproad was expected to be shut for the rest of Thursday.
Investigators have now confirmed more human skeletal remains have been found close to the skull.
“Our investigations are ongoing”.
A police auto, police van, an unmarked Vauxhall van and two other unmarked cars were parked on the M54 slip road, which had been sealed off with cones.
Detective Chief Inspector Neil Jamieson, from West Mercia Police, said: ‘We are in the very early stages of this investigation and enquiries are ongoing.
The Highways Agency are also in attendance, and one lane the slip road to the M54 is now closed.
