Humid, possible showers this weekend
High temperatures will rise into the upper 70s to near 80 degrees.
Monday, a 70 percent chance of rain, and a thunderstorm possible. A stronger cold front will arrive Monday evening, bringing a welcome drop in temperatures, with highs in the 70s for several days. Mostly cloudy skies will continue overnight with little chance for rain. “Nate” will pass well west of our area, but what he is forecast to do, is to increase moisture coming out of the Gulf with a southerly flow.
The heavy rain continues Sunday night and into early Monday morning before the remnant low quickly moves northeastward while clearing the Commonwealth. Showers linger into Wednesday afternoon before that system finally pushes eastward. By next weekend, we will have sunny skies with temperatures in the mid to upper 80s.
Saturday night: Showers likely, mainly after 11 p.m. Humid. High: Low 70s. Of course, we do warm so well it’s not even that big of news lately!
Sunday night: Mostly clear, with a low around 51. The best chance for showers and storms will be on Sunday in our area. A few 80-degree readings over interior southern ME are possible. Cloudy, with a high near 80. More humid at night.
Saturday: The start to your fall break will see partly cloudy skies with a high above 84.
SUN RETURNS: The clouds will be slow to leave on Friday, but the sun will eventually win out in the afternoon and evening.
Localized flooding and flash flooding will also be possible from heavy rain.One to four inches of rain are expected with higher totals possible. However, Sunday is not a washout by any means, there will still be plenty of dry time during the day for outdoor plans.
