Hundreds in Michigan mourn officer killed in Dallas shooting
Police from across the nation are expected to attend the funeral of slain Dallas Police Officer Michael Krol in Michigan Tuesday.
He’s one of the five cops killed in a Dallas police ambush this month.
“On July 7, 2016, twelve officers were shot on duty by a sniper”, the video description begins.
The former Wayne County jail guard moved to Dallas in 2007 when he couldn’t find work as a police officer in Detroit or the surrounding areas. “Our heroes will never be forgotten”.
The funeral was held for Dallas police officer Michael Krol at St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church in Redford Township. Speaking at the ceremony, Dallas Police.
After a somber week of farewells, cops from across the country gathered in MI for a final salute to Michael Krol. It was at that point that Ehlke became anxious according to a report in the Free Press.
Survivors include his mother, Susan Ehlke; his father, Frank Joseph Krol Jr.; two sisters, Heather (Brett) Stacey and Amie (Brian) Schoenbaechler; and a brother, Joe (Alexandria) Krol. “And he gave his life in service of others”.
Krol graduated East Long Meadow High School in MA in 1994 and obtained a criminal justice degree from Wayne State University and worked at the Wayne County Jail between 2002 and 2007.
In addition to the fatalities, nine officers and two civilians were injured, the Washington Post reports. A funeral for Patrick Zamarripa is scheduled for Saturday. After the service his body will be brought back to MI where he will be buried at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield.
