Hurricane Forms Far Out Over The Atlantic
According to NOAA’s National Hurricane Center storm tracker in Miami, Florida, Kate was located about 985 miles southwest of Cape Race, Newfoundland as of 4 a.m. E.S.T.
Hurricane Kate was moving quickly on Wednesday morning and was expected to start to morph into an extratropical storm on Thursday.
Kate will pass 201 miles to the north-northwest at 5am on Wednesday.

Kate is in the Atlantic Ocean about 260 miles north of Bermuda with maximum sustained winds 75 mph. While a few more storms have formed this season than initially expected, most stayed weak, and the ones that did strengthen didn’t stay that way for long. But “There are no coastal watches or warnings in effect”.
Morning showers will decrease in the afternoon, with a few lingering overnight, and winds will become moderate by tomorrow evening.
The Ministry of Public Works asked residents to secure their trash and bins in advance of the onset of winds.
