Hyrule Warrior’s Linkle may return for other games
He adds that Linkle was instead added to make the game more diverse and giving her a background as someone who wants to be a hero gave the game something new to offer. Not only will the dual crossbow-wielding Linkle be available in the action game’s 3DS version, but she can also be unlocked and transferred to the Wii U’s Hyrule Warriors port.
Hyrule Warriors isn’t short on strong female fighters, but from the moment fans uncovered a concept drawing of a woman dressed in Link’s signature green tunic, they wanted one more added to the roster.
But Linkle was originally meant to be a close relation – his sister.
The new character, Linkle, is a female version of the series main character Link, but is also her own character.
In fact, it was the positive fan reaction to Linkle that convinced Aonuma to consider her usage in future titles.
Hyrule Warriors Legends is slated to release on March 25th for the Nintendo 3DS. Asked by IGN on Linkle’s effect on the entire Legend of Zelda franchise, the Nintendo producer shared, “I’m sure we will keep her in mind when thinking about future titles”.
We’re excited to see Linkle included in future Nintendo games, and would definitely be up for an adventure led by the new character. These characters include a number from Wind Waker; Tetra, The King of Hyrule/ The King of Red Lions, and Toon Link, as well as Majora’s Mask’s Skull Kid and the much awaited and debated Linkle.
“She doesn’t feel out of place at all in the world of the Zelda games”, Aonuma explained.
Nintendo has thus far chosen to reveal very little about their upcoming game, but with 2015 drawing to a close, more information figures to come out regarding “The Legend of Zelda” for the Wii U.
