Hyundai Elantra stars in two Super Bowl commercials
Hyundai is falling into the latter category meaning it has prepared a couple of 30 second commercials, both dedicated to the affordable 2017 Elantra.
Unfortunately, Ryanville isn’t real and is just a fantastical place Hyundai made up for their Super Bowl commercial this year about how their new auto doesn’t get distracted. Hyundai’s spot for the big game presents a world where a community of Ryan Reynoldseseseseses live in their own magical town called Ryanville. See!
At one point Reynolds is a sexy police officer giving himself a ticket, the next he’s breaking rocks as a studly construction worker.
In the 45-second ad, we see two women driving their new Hyundai Elantra as Salt-n-Pepa’s 1993 classic “Whatta Man” plays in the background.
The ad welcomes us to the fictional but fantastical town of Ryanville, populated by Ryan Reynolds in countless forms. And of course, front yard weekend-football team Ryan Reynolds. Ryan Reynolds will drive you wild.
And indeed, that’s the very best part of the ad: seeing Ryan Reynolds walking an adorable, fluffy little corgi.
It’s a distracting street to say the least, but nothing the 2017 Elantra’s Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection feature can’t handle. Thankfully, Ryan’s face is not digitally imposed onto the dogs.
