Hyundai N Concept RN30: motorsport flavoured vehicle teased ahead of Paris debut
The Korean automaker will be showing the Hyundai RN30 Concept, which is based on the next-generation i30 hatchback.
With that said, Hyundai seems pretty excited and the news is that it will showcase its new i30 hot hatch at the Paris Motor Show along with a motorsport-inspired concept of the same that should grab some eye-balls.
The 2016 Paris Motor Show opens to the public starting October 1.
The RN30 is described as a racing machine, with development work carried out by Hyundai Motorsport (HMSG), Hyundai Motor Europe Technical Center (HMETC) and Hyundai Motor’s Performance Development & High Performance Vehicle Division.
Hyundai sticks to its Fluidic design philosophy with the i30.
Hyundai has released a teaser of its performance division’s creation, the N Concept RN30, what could well turn out to be Hyundai’s most powerful model yet. “Apart from the engine features it is offering 17” Alloy Wheels, Exterior Chrome Effect Beltline, Interior Light for Front, Rear And Luggage Compartment are some of its important features.
Even though details are sketchy, it is estimated that the N Concept RN30 will receive a 2.0 liter turbocharged, four cylinder petrol engine driving all four wheels.
An electronically controlled mechanical limited slip differential will bring torque vectoring to tame wheelspin and improve traction in corners, while multi-mode adaptive dampers are also likely for Hyundai’s first proper hot hatch.
Question: Do you think the i30 N will be able to cut it, right out of the box, with the more established players – let’s not forget it’s gathered a team of engineers from performance brands, like BMW M.
The auto is expected to be propelled by 11.4-litre T-GDi turbocharged petrol motor, which pumps out 140PS of top power and 242Nm of max torque.
