I don’t want to be sacked — LVG
United has been criticized for the way they have been playing their football and a majority of the supporters are blaming Louis Van Gaal.
Manchester United will be desperate to get their season back on track as they welcome Norwich City to Old Trafford, with the visitors having fallen into the bottom three following several weeks of struggle. “Because of that I am, or maybe I should say was, a very successful manager”.
“When you cost yourself with errors, or not taking your opportunities, that drops us by five or six points and that makes a world of difference to a team like us”.
“We need to get back on a run of results as this is a crucial time and we need to do it”. There is not any doubt.
“The players who have trained this week are Rooney, Herrera, Smalling and Ashley Young is also coming back I think, but we have to wait and see”.
Louis van Gaal will go down in history as one of the greatest football managers of all time, but it is simply not working at Manchester United for him.
Speaking to the media ahead of this weekend’s home fixture against Norwich, van Gaal explained, “I don’t want to finish my career with the club sacking me”.
“I have said this, last week or the week before, the main thing is always first, the results, and second, the chemistry between players, manager and his staff”. My players are fine (with me). But we know that in advance. It’s like that. We know that, Jose knows that. “This is the world”.
One statistic stands out like a sore thumb – United have managed only seven shots on target in their last four Premier League home games. Then fans have to prove their belief again. “Lingard is out of the question, and Darmian is out of the question”, United manager stressed.
United have been handed a triple injury boost with the news that Wayne Rooney, Ander Herrera and Chris Smalling could all return to the squad tomorrow.
ROONEY NEARING FULL FITNESS Van Gaal said three or four players who have been out injured could be set for a return and he is hopeful striker Wayne Rooney will be fit after a full week’s training.
“I hope he scores a goal because it is a big day for him”, he added. Marcos Rojo, Antonio Valencia, and Luke Shaw are all out for much longer with long term injuries.
And the Dutchman confirmed that if United’s goalscoring problems continue and they are “in trouble” up front, they can recall James Wilson from his loan spell from Brighton.
