‘I keep whining and whining until I win’
In deeming Trump an alpha dog, Lowry led off his column by opining that “Donald Trump is given to superlatives, so let’s do him the honor of pronouncing him the most fabulous whiner in all of American politics”.
“I do whine because I want to win and I’m not happy about not winning”, Trump said on CNN’s “New Day” on Tuesday. “And I’m a whiner and I keep whining and whining until I win”, he said.
Donald Trump says he’ll do whatever it takes to become president to “make America great again” – even if it means “whining” his way to the White House.
The interview came after Trump has come under fire for a recent interview with another CNN host where he made indelicate comments about Fox News host Megyn Kelly who questioned Trump during the Republican primary debate over his harsh words about women.
Trump added that an independent run is “not something I want to do”. “By Trump’s own account, he’s the baddest, smartest thing going, except if you ask him a challenging question, in which case he kicks and screams and demands to know how anyone could treat him so unfairly”.
He reiterated he wasn’t commenting on Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly’s menstrual cycle when he said blood was coming out of her “wherever”. “I have to keep that door open because if something happens where I’m not treated fairly I may very well use that door”.
“It was a ridiculous interpretation…I don’t even know how it could’ve been misconstrued”, Trump said. He and Roger Ailes, the Fox News CEO, cleared the air in a phone call yesterday according to the brash businessman. “I’ve been working with government all my life – that’s what I do”. Trump tweeted a storm of broadsides against her and declared that she is overrated.
“Our tax code is too complicated, and we can simply it so easily”, Trump said.
Meanwhile, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul, who sparred with Trump during last week’s debate, also blasted the Republican frontrunner during a conference call with supporters on Monday.
