‘I’m trying to knock [Newton] out of the game.’
Newton was asked at Super Bowl media day earlier this week, if he was the LeBron of the National Football League, and Newton responded, “Why can’t LeBron be called the Cam Newton of power forwards?”
Norman landing a not-so-subtle shot at Harrison’s role during David Tyree’s helmet catch in the Giants’ 2007 Super Bowl win.
Tuesday, JJ Watt took to Twitter to answer a question, and this is where he let his thoughts known on Newton’s dancing, and really, he seems to be all for it. That’s the same with everybody, Tom Brady or Peyton Manning, anybody.
It’s good those days are mostly over, and not just for player safety.
“I didn’t see the quote, but I think any time somebody even at all addresses trying to injure somebody in this game, I don’t think there’s any place for it”, tight end Greg Olsen said Wednesday, about four hours after Harrison repeated his comments on the Dan Patrick Show. “Anytime I get an opportunity to speak to him, obviously it’s cherished”.
“I love sports. Without sport, who knows where I would be, so whether you’re playing golf or in this case, track and field, I have to tip my hat to people who have been exceptional role models in a very specific field”. “You can also throw Ken Dorsey into that mix as well”.
Dorsey has been the Panthers quarterback coach since 2013 while Rivera and offensive coordinator Mike Shula have been with the Panthers since 2011. But that’s not how football is (supposed to be) played anymore.
“That might be the difference between winning and losing a Super Bowl, “Harrison said. You got guys that can do this or got guys that can do that, but the importance is when that ball is snapped, you’re where you’re supposed to be and you do what you’re supposed to be doing no matter who you are”.
