Ian McShane teases huge Game of Thrones season six spoiler
The much-awaited “Game of Thrones” Season 6 has been creating buzz over the Internet again as recent reports about the latest cast actor revealed that HBO would possibly bring a dead character in the series back to life. We still dont know exactly which character McShane is signed on as, but this week the actor gave us a huge tidbit related to the individual he will be playing.
Either way, we won’t get to see him for long… With the promise of giving “one hint”, McShane shared that his character is “responsible for bringing somebody back that you think you’re never going to see again”.
Previous rumors said McShane would portray a character who has a scene with an outlaw band mentioned in the casting call that was released shortly after season 5 wrapped up. “I’ll leave it as that”, McShane told CinemaBlend. And what’s your guess for who’s coming back? The actor also said he will only appear in a “one-off episode”. A few fans have been speculating that McShane could be playing a role similar to that of Septon Meribald and the Elder Brother from the fourth book in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire saga, A Feast for Crows.
Assuming McShane will only appear in a single episode like he says he will, the Elder Brother probably makes the most sense.
The main theory making the rounds is since the Hound’s brother Ser Gregor Clegane (Hafþór Júlíus “Thor” Björnsson) is now a reanimated Ser Robert Strong and Cersei Lannister’s (Lena Headey) champion, Sandor Clegane will become a champion of the Faith (after a stint as a novice on the Quiet Isle) and face off against his monstrous brother. This would add a whole different element to the story, too, since Brienne already met the Hound on the show, and it didn’t go that well. Now a no-nonsense rural priest who ministers to the poor of the countryside. Lady Stoneheart has already been introduced in the books, leading many to anticipate her arrival on the show.
Both Rory McCann and Michelle Fairley have been rumored to be in Belfast, where season six has been filming, so it seems either character (or maybe both?) could return.
Is McShane talking about Stoneheart?
