ICE ramps up arrests of undocumented immigrants in Ypsilanti
The memos order the hiring of 5,000 additional Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents and 10,000 additional Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.
But there are some important facts worth noting about the Trump administration’s recent actions targeting unauthorized immigrants. ICE is notified of undocumented individuals in our custody who have been convicted of serious offenses, such as murder or rape.

That history of delay between a top administrator’s directive and actual practice at the local level appears to be repeating itself. “We’re getting calls about this sort of thing from across the state. But there’s a moral cause as well, that goes to the heart of our faith”.
