IDF: 2 Israelis killed, 1 injured by shooter in West Bank
An unknown assailant opened fire on a auto south of the city, the army said, killing a father and son and wounding a teenager.
The Israeli military said troops shot a man at the hospital while they were there to arrest a suspect in a stabbing attack. The statement said he’d been smuggled into Al-Ahli after he attacked the Israeli.
It states that for products from West Bank or the Golan Heights that originate from settlements, the expression “Israeli settlement” or equivalent needs to be added, in brackets; while for products from the West Bank not originating from settlements could be labelled “product from Palestine” or ‘Palestinian product’.
Also Friday, a Palestinian was shot and killed in clashes with Israeli troops during a protest rally in the West Bank.
The deceased was identified as Abdullah Shalaldeh, 27, who was killed at the Al-Ahli Hospital in Hebron city. At least 75 Palestinians have been shot dead by Israeli forces, including 45 people who were carrying out or about to carry out attacks.
Most of the violence that escalated early last month, including numerous attacks on Israelis, has been centered around occupied East Jerusalem and the Hebron district of the West Bank.
That same day, 22-year-old Issa al-Shalalda, from the village of Sair near Hebron, died from wounds he sustained a day earlier after being shot during confrontations with Israeli forces. Several hundred Jewish settlers live in fortified enclaves in the city, amid tens of thousands of Palestinians.
It was the latest in a two-month wave of violence in which Palestinian assaults on Israeli civilians and soldiers have become an nearly daily occurrence.
CCTV footage from inside the hospital showed a large group of men armed with pistols and rifles, a few with beards and others with Palestinian “keffiyeh” scarves on their heads, walking through the corridors telling hospital workers to get out of the way. It said the other home, near Ramallah, belonged to a man who killed an Israeli on his way home from a basketball game. It said Shalaldeh, who is about 20, was in the hospital being treated for a gunshot wound he suffered after being shot by his stabbing victim. Police then found the other bodies.
That same agency also reported that Israeli snipers on Friday shot and injured a young Palestinian man near the entrance to the town of Sa’ir.
