Idris Elba Confirmed In ‘Star Trek Beyond’

Seen flaunting his dance moves, Elba and the rest of the cast had a quite energetic first day as they shoot a behind the scenes special video for The Omaze campaign.

Fans are getting a ton of details surrounding Star Trek Beyond, despite not being a part of SDCC. Popping in at the end is none other than Idris Elba, who celebrated the appearance by break-dancing (well, sort of).

Though it hasn’t been revealed just yet what role he will play, chances are he would be cast as a villain in the highly anticipated sequel. Nine organizations all over the world will benefit from the donations. The grand prize victor and a guest will be able to fly to to Vancouver and stay in a 4-star hotel, visit the “Star Trek Beyond” set, have fun with the cast, and transform into their on-screen character by the film’s costume and makeup department for their walk-on role. The promo says it will give the victor “a chance to boldly go where no man or woman has gone before” in a posh starship.

Detroit Free Press adds that the winning fan can experience an alien transformation.

Cast members John Cho, Simon Pegg, Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Anton Yelchin and Idris Elba feature in the promotional video. Check it out below and remember to set your calendars for July 8, 2016, when “Star Trek Beyond” comes to theaters.
