If Pacific Rim 2 Is A Hit, Hellboy 3 Might Get Greenlight
This, by the way, is the film that forced Guillermo del Toro to walk away from WB’s Justice League Dark, as he recently said that schedule conflicts proved troublesome for the WB movie. A plan for a trilogy is in place, but it will depend on the sequel’s level of success at the box office. “Pacific Rim 2” clearly has some far reaching implications beyond just the destruction of some Jaegers and Kaijus.
It looks like the new updates for Guillermo del Toro’s monster mecha sequel, “Pacific Rim 2” revealed have been regarding the possible plot details and Charlie Hunnam return to the film.
But del Toro himself is a little guilty.
“It would be great to complete the trilogy“, the visionary director continued, “but in a way I don’t see the world-the industry-supporting that idea”. The most expensive movie ever funded on Kickstarter? I don’t think it’s the fans’ job to fund a movie; I think it’s up to the people who do it professionally.
When is the right time to start losing hope?
Well, about now would be a good time: there have been situations in which projects got stuck in production limbo for years and even decades before they got a new installment, but “Hellboy” doesn’t seem to fit the bill.
“I will fight for Hellboy 3 as long as my cold, dead hands are not cold and dead”, Perlman added. Given that the Pacific Rim movies are really the director’s own work (created, of course, with Beacham and others) it’s no surprise to see he made this choice. Whether he’s playing with a big budget canvas like Pacific Rim or exploring a child’s surreal journey with Pan’s Labyrinth, del Toro always brings a human element to the proceedings.
“Justice League Dark” was supposed to be a live-version action of the comics under DC which goes by the same name and revolves around the story of the famed characters, John Constantine, Etrigan the Demon, Deadman and Zatanna.
