IK Enemkpali says he never intended to hurt Geno Smith

Linebacker IK Enemkpali joined the Bills this week after being released from the New York Jets following a locker room altercation that resulted in a broken jaw for Jets quarterback Geno Smith.

Ryan said he never had any problems with Enemkpali in the linebacker’s one year with the Jets, which also was the coach’s final season with the team.

Complete details of the altercation have yet to be released, but it appears Jets teammate, linebacker Ikemefuna Enemkpali, was the player who delivered the punch to Smith’s jaw.

“I think it’s clear it was a mistake”.

When asked why Enemkpali punched Smith, Bowles said the media would have to ask the players.
