Ikea recalls children’s nightlight
The item is the PATRULL nightlight, which comes in the colours orange, white, and pink.
Although there have been no reports of injury in Canada, IKEA is recalling PATRULL nightlights.
The Patrull nightlight has been available in North America and Europe since August 2013, and it automatically turns on in the dark.
The light has a dome-shaped plastic cover that gives the light its color and is attached to a white rectangular plastic base. The article number is printed on the nightlight’s packaging.
Ikea is recalling 442,000 children’s nightlights over an electrical shock hazard. Consumers who have bought such a nightlight can take it to the closest IKEA store for a full refund, no slip required. The agency says the dome shaped plastic covering on the light can detach, exposing its electrical components. No incidents have been reported in the U.S. The child received an electrical shock and minor wounds on his hand.
A total of 170,000 Patrull lamps have been sold in Sweden, according to Metro.
