Imran for ending monopoly of one party on Karachi
DIG south said no one could be allowed to take out rally in Lyari.
“Criminals and Qabza mafia have taken control of the country and they have united in the name of saving democracy”, said the PTI chief.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said politicians divided the people of Karachi into different ethnicities and religious sects for personal gains. They had only informed the administration a day earlier about their plan to hold the rally, he told Dawn, adding that they were required to seek a written permission before taking out any rally.
He claimed that in view of PTI’s performance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the party will not have to conduct any campaign in the next elections.
Earlier, Imran urged his party activists to carry out a door-to-door election campaign in the city to persuade the people of Karachi to vote only for PTI and its political ally Jamaat-e-Islami (JI). He said a Rs2.5bn package was offered to people during a by-election in NA-154 constituency where PTI leader Jahangir Tareen was a candidate, but the ECP never moved to stop PML-N’s tactics to influence voters.
Pakistan Tahreek e Insaf(PTI) chairman Imran Khan has said there is dire need to end the monopoly of a particular party on Karachi so that the citizens of this mega city could get their due rights.
“If these people remain in power, the condition of Karachi will also stay the same”, he said.
The PTI and JI have reached an understanding to “root out their opponent” the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in the local bodies’ elections in Karachi, scheduled to be held on December 5.
