As Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton jockey for support ahead of Saturday’s South Carolina Democratic primary, much of the debate has centered around who has a stronger record of fighting for minority rights.
Baldwin Wallace political science Professor Tom Sutton said Mr. Sanders is the overwhelmingly favorite among students at this private college southeast of Cleveland, based on what he hears in his classes.
Sanders also took a slight dig at Republican Presidential front runner, allying him with the big banks, billionaires and corporate interests his campaign is trying to take on. “Our campaign has been doing something really radical-we’re telling the American people the truth”, said Sanders. It would also augur well for Clinton as she seeks to sweep Southern contests on Super Tuesday in states like Alabama, Georgia, Arkansas, Virginia and Tennessee.

But the Sanders camp is already discounting the result on Saturday, pointing out that Sanders was little known in SC before the primary and had already cut into Clinton’s wide polling leads.
