In Theaters This Weekend: Hugh Jackman Makes His Final Stand as ‘Logan’
And Sir Patrick Stewart, 76, and Hugh Jackman, 48, shared a touching moment at a recent screening of their final film in the 10-movie franchise, Logan. As one of the few remaining mutants, he keeps a low profile while caring for an aging and ill Professor X, who’s hidden in a secret silo just south of the Mexican border.
While a full return to his X-Men character is still unlikely, a cameo in Deadpool could be a true possibility.
Hugh Jackman’s Logan is this week’s big Hollywood release in India. Director James Mangold and star Hugh Jackman are getting praise for his handling of the film. Every film from Disney’s Marvel Studios and Time Warner Inc’s TWX, -0.23% Warner Bros.’ DC superhero unit has carried that more family-friendly rating. Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) is past 90, and his degenerative brain disease turns him into an unwitting weapon of mass destruction. Logan is reluctant and disinterested, Xavier is kind and a little kooky, and Laura is mute.
O’ Keefe’s match figures of 12 wickets for 70 were in fact the best ever by a visiting spinner in India. As of right now, we have no idea, and it’s hopefully a plot point which Deadpool 2, X-Force, or even an X-23 movie will address down the line. Xavier’s (Patrick Stewart) declining mental and physical health (he’s in his 90s now) and Logan’s ageing body nearly make us feel sorry for the two characters. Original actor Hugh Jackman thinks so!
As for Logan, he’s driving a limousine; he’s drinking way too much; and his healing powers aren’t what they used to be. “I said to him, “Jim, it’s my last one, I’ve got this idea, we do something more like “The Wrestler” or “Unforgiven”‘ and he mentioned ‘Shane” and I said, ‘We’re gonna stick to that and do that'”.
For fans of the X-Men series, last Friday, March 3, presented a day of both excitement and sadness.
Although overly violent and bleak, Logan is still a solid farewell to Jackman as the Wolverine.
