In TV interview, Trump says queen call Brexit ‘complex’
92-year-old queen, Trump was quoted as saying: “She is an incredible woman, she is so sharp, she is so attractive, when I say lovely – inside and out”. But Trump did address a broad range of subjects in the interview, which will also be broadcast on British television Monday.
Initially, it was supposed to be a “state visit” featuring even more elaborate ceremony, but that was later downgraded to an audience as it became clearer that Trump’s presence in London would be less than welcome.
It is worth noting that the US President visited Britain for the first time.
In the encounter, Elizabeth appears to gesture Trump forward before he walks ahead and promptly puts on the brakes – forcing the monarch to do an awkward sidestep around him.
However, the meeting with Queen Elizabeth on his first visit to Britain as U.S. president still seems to rankle.
The Queen smiled warmly as she posed for photos with King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium at Windsor Castle yesterday morning.
The Royal band played the national anthem of the United States. Apart from improving relations between the two nations, Donald Trump also provided us with thousands of memes.
The Trumps then went for tea with Queen Elizabeth. Up close, you see she’s so lovely. I have not seen the tea tapes. “She thought she was a woman of elegance, and my mother felt she was a great woman”, Trump explained.
“She is a tremendous woman. She has got a great and attractive grace about her”. As the Brits might say, that starkers comment surely miffed the royals – what codswallop! The trip to Windsor Palace isn’t official state business, however, but rather a casual meeting between heads of state.
President Trump was criticised for not following protocol when he met the Queen on Friday and there were also rumours that Prince Charles and Prince William refused to meet with the President. William, second in line to the throne, is the monarch’s grandson.
Trump declined to say what he believes her view is on that important question.
“I think we could probably get along very well”.
In 2000, Stern asked Trump if he would have slept with Diana. “But I liked her a lot”. “Come on Kate!” he wrote.
“It was really something special”, he said of the meeting.
The interview was conducted on Friday but published on Sunday.
But with all the protocol involved, faux pas are bound to occur.
The POTUS was destroyed on Twitter after he was seen walking in front of Elizabeth II as she was inspecting a guard of honour of the Coldstream Guards.
