Incognito Returns to Miami With Bills
“I’ve been through a lot since I’ve been down there”, Incognito said, via Jay Skurski of the Buffalo News.
Incognito, now with the Buffalo Bills, will return Sunday to Sun Life Stadium for the first time since being suspended in 2013.
“I’m personally motivated for every single game I play in”. If that means benching a player or two, particularly if they take a personal foul, he needs to do it. The Dolphins, too, have their own issues with penalties, having taken 13 last week against the Jaguars. Just kind of figuring out who I am and what I wanted out of my career and what I want out of life.
Definitely made some big improvements, definitely made some strides coming from the situation in Miami.
Martin, who is black, said he had been subjected to harassment, which an investigator said included racial slurs and sexual taunts about his mother and sister.
The SalSpeak Podcast, sponsored by Remedy at Finger Lakes Gaming and Racing, is available on iTunes. So far Incognito has taking full advantage of the chance the Bills have given him but he knows that scandal has left a permanent mark on his career. “I’ve got a lot of friends in the organization. He’s a great guy”.
Back in June, Bills coach Rex Ryan echoed many of these sentiments. Rex Ryan and the Bills then signed the guard this past February out of free agency, marking the second time he’d play for Buffalo (2009).
“He has been absolutely tremendous”, said Ryan.
“I just think it’s unacceptable”, Suh said of the team’s defensive statistics. The questions started turning into ones he was used to hearing.
But both past and current teammates of the Bills’ controversial lineman came to his defense.
“He’s been a beast, a leader, a smart player; you can tell he’s a veteran”, said McCoy. You want to go out and play well and you want to come away with a win. “I’m happy he’s here, I really am”. It will be Incognito’s first time playing against the team that cast him aside following the incident.
“Richie has moved on past that”, Ryan said. “I’ve got a lot of respect for them”.
As for his return to South Beach, the tight end harbors no ill-will toward the Dolphins. Especially since I’m so close with some of those guys and have been competing with them for so long.
The game is not on Monday Night Football, but the point is clear. The talent the Bills have with their front seven defenders, there should be no problem eliminating the Dolphins running game all together. I’m juiced up, I’m amped up for every single game.
As you’d imagine, the 32-year old is ready and raring to go: “This one just has a little more meaning”. There are “bigger things in play”. “But for me, it’s just focusing, going down there, playing physical and playing tough football”.
