Incorrect information being spread to discredit us: CBI on Delhi CMO raid
THE office of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s Principal Secretary was on Tuesday raided by CBI in a corruption case triggering a fresh face-off between the AAP and Centre and a vicious political slugfest in which the AAP chief spewed venom against Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Kejriwal’s rage in this video doesn’t behoove of a Chief Minister and was indicative of a coming soon exposé and it happened faster than one would have expected. Has there ever been a probe over allegations of corruption against him…the media should not distort facts.
Recounting the sequence of events, J.S. Rawat, the personal secretary to Rajendra, has said the CBI officers had sealed the staircase leading to the third floor where the chief minister’s office is located.
TMC yesterday batted for the Delhi CM in the Lok Sabha over the CBI raids on his principal secretary’s office, alleging that the agency had become Gujarat Bureau of Investigation (GBI) under the Modi government. The Serious Fraud Investigation Office under the Finance Ministry probed into the complaint filed by Jaitely’s party colleague Kirti Azad and submitted a report on March 21, 2013. If you go with the reaction of Kejriwal and Jaitley ji, it is amply clear that the more nervous man is Mr. Kejriwal. CBI seizures during the searches at 14 places were in the presence of independent witnesses, as per procedure laid down by law.
“Searching files at the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) and taking some of the files in their custody on Monday evening – what does it all signify?” he asked.
Arvind Kejriwal has also accused Arun Jaitley of running away from investigation in DDCA scam in which huge amount is involved.
Delhi chief minister had said yesterday that the CBI raided his office to search for files on the DDCA or Delhi and District Cricket Association, which, he said, had Jaitley’s name. The FIR alleged that Rajendra had abused his official position by favouring a private company, Endeavours Systems, through contracts worth Rs 9.42 crore since 2007.
Kejriwal says Modi has been attempting to sabotage his government to stem his popularity and destroy his chances of breaking the dominance of India’s two national parties. “I can not reply to vague allegations”.
