Two ultra high-resolution cameras will be mounted at the two burjs (towers) of the fort to keep tabs on any suspicious activity within a 5-km radius of the historic monument.
Delhi Police and the paramilitary forces have made all arrangements to ensure total security.
The localities around Red Fort have been sanitised and informers have been deployed to keep a close check.
The venue of celebrations Fort St George, premises of airport, Central and Egmore railway terminals are among the locations where security has been beefed up.
The markets or places of strategic importance are being monitored by thousands of Delhi Police personnel and paramilitary forces. Traffic regulations are also in place around Fort St George.
Similar intense security measures will be put in place in all the state capitals and major cities.
