India, China agreed to deepen defence ties, maintain peace at LAC

India and China chose to strengthen cooperation against terror, including at the worldwide level.

For his part, Parrikar said that both India and China are victims of terrorism and India hopes to stage common fight against worldwide terrorism with China.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today pitched for increase in strategic trust and maintenance of peace and tranquility on the border to promote overall ties with China.

India also looks forward to increasing dialogue and coordination with China and enhancing exchanges between the border troops of the two countries so that the relations between the two militaries can also move forward continuously, said the Indian defense minister. The two sides on Monday also welcomed the fact that the fifth border personnel meeting (BPM) point at Daulat Beg Oldi had become operational in August, which adds to the existing ones at Chushul (Ladakh), Nathu La (Sikkim), Bum La and Kibithu (Arunachal) between the two armies.

India and China have agreed to ensure peace and tranquility along the border areas.

They reviewed the ongoing exchanges and expressed satisfaction at the recently-held bilateral military exercise, “Hand-in-Hand”.

Taking word of the intensification of defence exchanges, the Indian aspect welcomed the proposal for the go to of Commander of Lanzhou Military area to India early subsequent yr. While, the ships of three countries took part in the naval exercise, a contingent of the Indian Army was exercising with their Chinese counterpart in China’s Kunming area.
