India, Jordan agree to exchange info to combat terrorism

President Pranab Mukherjee arrived here yesterday in what he termed a landmark visit to push ties with Jordan.

India and Jordan signed the first bilateral agreement for co-operation in 1947. “We do understand that it is not possible for any country to feed 1.2 billion plus people”, added Mukherjee. The year 2016 will mark 60 years of diplomatic relations between India and Spain, offering both countries the opportunity to work on realizing fully the true potential of our partnership. This is reflected in his government’s moves in relation to Israel, marking a distinct break from the diffidence of the past.
Mukherjee will also visit the Hebrew University where he will be presented an honorary doctorate. He is accompanied by a six-member delegation of members of Parliament, as also senior officials and academics.
Mukherjee is on a six-day, three-nation visit which will take him next to Palestine and Israel. “Still, they are treated well, and the business community is respected”, he told The Hindu.
