India’s Congress blocks parliament over govt Gandhi ‘vendetta’

The bond between the two parties was seen inside Parliament, where TMC members joined hands with Congress lawmakers in targeting the government over the National Herald case, and outside when Mamata visited Sonia’s official residence, 10 Janpath, to extend wishes on her birthday.
“I was there from 10.30 to 11.30 a.m. We requested the court that the accused Congress leaders want to appear before it and it could give date and time according to its convenience”, Singhvi said.
Meanwhile, Combative Congress members, upset over the National Herald case, on Tuesday paralysed Parliament protesting against alleged “vendetta politics” leading to repeated adjournments in the Lok Sabha as well as Rajya Sabha. In case of Congress leaders, it is not the action of the government but that of the judiciary….Court has summoned them and not the government.
They were asked to comment on the the Delhi High Court rejecting their pleas for quashing the summons by a Delhi court against them in the National Herald case, initiated by BJP leader Subramanaian Swamy.
Sources said that the Congress will continue its agitation in Parliament alleging political vendetta by the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Rahul Gandhi who is on a three day tour at Assam said, “The matter is driven by PM’s office. This is their way of doing politics”, Rahul said while coming out of Parliament.
The BJP spokesman asked Congress to allow Parliament to function normally and allow passage of important bills.
They are trying to become a hero after the charges against them and at the same time they do not have enough courage to come inside the House and say what they are speaking outside to the media.
Rudy said the house and the country wanted to know what was the issue that was agitating Congress members. For Congress to accuse the government of practicing tyranny was like a man crying at becoming an orphan after killing his parents, he said. “We agreed to their demand of a debate in the house over Vasundhra Raje controversy”, he said.
Naidu, who also addressed a press conference, accused the Congress of using Parliament to intimidate and silence the judiciary after the Gandhis were not given relief by court in the Herald case.
