India to boycott CPU meeting in Pakistan
The APHC in a statement issued after a meeting chaired by its Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, in Srinagar said that India and Pakistan needed to show political farsightedness to deal with the tense situation.
Formally, India will also ask Chaudhury to shift the venue for the summit to enable the Indian Speakers to attend, but officials conceded that such a change so close to the event was virtually impossible.
While the formal head of the CPA is the British monarch, it is the duty of the host country to issue invites for its annual meetings.

The Speaker said Pakistan gave this reply when India took up the matter strongly with the CPA chairperson and secretary-general.
Such a decision comes amid tensions over two recent terror attacks in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir.
India is represented in the CPA, through its 31 branches that constitute speakers and representatives from state assemblies.

“We reviewed this issue and felt this was wrong”, Mahajan said after a meeting today with the Speakers. Not extending an invitation to the Jammu and Kashmir CPA is “unacceptable” as the CPA unit of Jammu and Kashmir state is “very much a bonafide member of the CPA”.
