India to release nine Pakistani fishermen on August 9
The released Pakistani fishermen were originally residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to Pakistani officials.
“Release and repatriation of the remaining 18 Pakistani fishermen will be considered by the government as and when their nationality is confirmed by the Pakistan high commission in Delhi”, the statement said.
India has released nine Pakistani fishermen as a goodwill gesture, a media report said on Sunday.
Indian authorities on Saturday have handed over at least nine Pakistani fishermen and seven prisoners to Rangers at Wagha check post.
