December 4 (ANI): Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. In this context, he quoted a top Taliban terrorist who said unless terror sanctuaries were allowed in Pakistan, the group will not last even a month. The brunt borne by Pakistan (in the fight against terrorism) after 9/11 incident in the United States was known to all, he concluded.

However, Pakistan’s de facto foreign policy chief felt Ghani’s statement was incomprehensible and condemnable, and contended that it was meant to “please India”.
India had tried and failed to get these groups mentioned in the Goa Declaration issued at the end of the BRICS Summit in Goa.
India and Iran signed a bilateral agreement in May 2016 to refurbish the port on the Gulf of Oman that is expected to provide an alternative route for New Delhi-Kabul trade.
He said India’s support for Afghanistan will continue for the foreseeable future.
Briefing media persons, Mr Ghani thanked India for its consistent support to Afghanistan.
