Indian man walks with wife’s severed head on Pune road
Ramachandra Chavan, 60, is seen holding the head in one hand and an axe in the other, apparently unaware of the horrified reactions of people around him.
In a gory incident supposedly triggered by suspicions of marital infidelity, a 60-year-old man was seen walking around the streets of Katraj near Pune with his wife’s severed head Friday afternoon. The news din’t went down well with him and he was enraged by the possibility of affair of his wife and beheaded his wife consequently witht the axe.
Chavan was taken into custody by police. The policemen showed presence of mind and quickly covered the head with a cloth. According to the FIR filed by police, he killed his wife Sonubai because he suspected she was having an affair with her son-in-law.
The police have booked him under murder charges, while further investigations are under way.
The man was caught on camera by horrified onlookers as he appeared to carry his wife’s bloody remains through the bustling city of Pune, near Mumbai, India. “It was a case of household quarrel between a couple where Chavan lost his control and killed his wife using a knife”.
