Indian Singer Sukhbir Singh Detained In Pakistan
Indian singer Sukhbir Singh successfully dodged Pakistani airport officials at the Allama Iqbal worldwide Airport here after $27,000 were reportedly recovered from his possession on Sunday.
Singh was on his way to Dubai when a luggage screening check showed the money in his bag.
However, his family who reside near Kapurthala, Punjab rubbished the report that “anything objectionable” was found on him and said he had not run away and claimed that Sukhbir had boarded the flight to Dubai. Latest update is that, this Indian pop singer disappeared in Karachi airport.
Singh left behind his luggage and $29000, since then there is no clue of him.
Realising that he was carrying the extra money, Sukhbir returned without taking the boarding card, the sources added.
Sukhbir’s nephew Sunny Singh said that “Sukhbir was in Pakistan for a music concert”. The Indian singer arrived Lahore to perform the marriage ceremony of the grandson of a close associate of slain Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
“Sukhbir was given Dollars 30,000 to perform in both events on August 7 and 8 where Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali also performed”, it was reported.
