Indian-US Moon Express to take human remains
Moon Express also sees the moon serving as a sort of outer space fuel depot to produce rocket fuel from the ice trapped at the moon’s poles.
Moon Express will receive $20 million from Google if it successfully lands the spacecraft on the moon. According to a report from the Independent, an American company called Moon Express has just received permission from the US government to carry out the first-ever private mission to the moon.
An Indian American entrepreneur has begun a countdown for launching a moon lander next year after the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced it has approved his company’s venture. The company will unveil the spacecraft, known as MX-1, in September.
Moon Express will be working with a Rocket Lab USA Electron rocket for the 2017 launch. Chairman Jain was also quoted saying “In 15 years, the Moon will be an important part of Earth’s economy”. The mission must be done by 2017, so we are hoping that Moon Express will be able to do it.
Bob Richards, co-founder and CEO of Moon Express, hopes to launch a Rocket Lab Electron booster topped with the MX-1 Lander by the end of 2017. There were some private companies who sent payloads to the International Space Station, but this mission will go beyond that. It’s a little unclear what jurisdiction the USA or any other earthly government has over actions that take place in space, but it is clearly good to have the implicit backing of the most powerful economic, political, and military organization on the planet.
“For example, the lander will be carrying several retroreflectors created to reflect light back to earth; in the past, these devices have led to discoveries about relativity and quantum mechanics and in the future, could yield insights into dark matter, said MoonEx co-founder Bob Richards in an interview”, according to a news report published by Daily Herald.
A very interesting fact is that the courageous company will receive 20 million dollars from Google if it will land a commercial spacecraft on the moon.
No NASA-run flight has gone to the moon in more than 40 years.
Moon Express was co-founded in 2010 by space visionary, Dr.
So when we land on the moon, not only will we be the first company ever to do so, we will become the fourth superpower. A new plan by a billionaire and his associates could lead to moon mining, and change the energy and natural resources industries forever.
