Indiana GOP panel set to select Pence replacement for ballot
Donald Trump’s running mate Mike Pence is expected to make his first solo campaign stop as the Republican vice presidential nominee in southeast Wisconsin on Wednesday night.
Holcomb was officially chosen Tuesday by his party to fill Mike Pence’s shoes in the race for Governor. He dropped that bid a few days before he was appointed lieutenant governor.
“We can not allow our state to go backwards to the days of debt, delayed payments to schools and unfunded infrastructure projects”. He gladly accepted Pence’s endorsement for the job, has already received verbal support from Micah Clark of the ultra-conservative American Family Association of IN and will be rewarded with financial support from the war chest accumulated by gubernatorial candidate Pence. “Donald Trump says we need to change this law”.
Take the Republican vice presidential candidate, Gov. Mike Pence of Indiana.
“I know the experience you’ve had in Wisconsin with Gov. Scott Walker, the experience we’ve had in the Hoosier state over much of the last 10 years”, Pence said in his speech.
He declined to adopt the social issues “truce” that once was proclaimed by his former boss, Republican Gov. Mitch Daniels, and suggested he will not interfere with the Republican-controlled General Assembly if lawmakers propose new restrictions on abortion, immigration and other hot-button issues. “I want to serve as governor and Eric Holcomb wants to be governor – and there’s a big difference there”. In 2013 he took the job of chief of staff for U.S. Sen.
U.S. Rep. Todd Young, who is running for the seat Coats is vacating in the U.S. Senate, said he can attest to Holcomb’s “dedication to serving our state”.
He repeated numerous same phrases from his July 20 speech at the Republican National Convention, such as “Donald Trump gets it” and “He’s the genuine article”.
ACCORDING TO The Howey Report, The Wall Street Journal picked Holcomb and fellow Indiana Republicans that year for the dubious designation of making the most outrageous campaign claim that year after they accused Frenz and other state representatives of supporting pedophilia, sexual perversion, condom giveaways and letting murders and rapists out of jail early. If elected governor, it would be the first campaign Holcomb has entered and won. They became political allies when Walker was chairman of the GOP Midwestern Governors Association. Eric will use his wealth of experience and deep love of our state to continue the progress IN has made over the last decade.
“I don’t think there is a lot of current conversation around (the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, )” Smith said. Holcomb appears to go hand in hand with Pence with his ultra right wing conservative views. “We are unified, because we can not go backwards as a state”, Rokita said.
Come November, however, Trump’s anti-trade tirades and Pence’s flip-flops on key farm and ranch issues such as the Farm Bill and renewable fuels will mean little to nothing to farmers and ranchers who, if the past is prologue, still will overwhelmingly vote for the Republican Trump/Pence ticket.
That’s because by having Pence’s lieutenant governor get the nod, Gregg’s camp still can say a vote for the Republican candidate would continue Pence’s administration.
Pence said he was “thrilled” Holcomb is running in November.
“For too many Hoosier families, wages aren’t keeping up and the good paying jobs we are losing aren’t being replaced”, the Democratic candidate said in a news release. Eric Holcomb wholeheartedly embraced the failed approach that embarrassed our state, cost us jobs and has left the middle class behind.
