‘Indiana Jones 5’? Steven Spielberg hints at another film with Harrison Ford
Back in May, Kathleen Kennedy, President, Lucasfilm stated her plans for a fifth movie.
Steven Spielberg is gearing up to direct Ready Player One, and on the surface it sounds like a fascinating marriage of director and material.
Spielberg’s fourth collaboration with Tom Hanks, Bridge of Spies, opens on October 16 in the U.S. and November 27 in the UK.
“We’ve gotta figure this out because now Tom is tied with Harrison Ford”. After calling a wrap on Bridge of Spies, he will delve into the Roald Dahl archives with The BFG before heading up long-gestating adaptation Ready Player One – plus, there’s also the small matter of the indefinitely delayed Robopocalypse. This is not the first time fans have heard news about “Indiana Jones 5″.
“Indiana Jones 5” was neither confirmed nor was it ruled out completely.
“They reference so many ’80s movies”. According to the executive, a new installment “will one day be made inside this company”. “I’m telling this story because I really feel what’s in Ready Player One is going to be in our lives before we know it”. This immediately put him in the running for the title role. Pratt even said he wouldn’t be intimidated if offered the chance to play the iconic character. Steven Spielberg is adapting the novel, and though it is still in the early goings, hes already starting to cut things out, specifically references to his own movies. And considering the polarizing effect of 2008’s “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull”, that’s probably a good thing. Indy co-creator and long-time producer George Lucas had a hand in the last sequel, with Spielberg admitting that Lucas was behind the whole convoluted alien storyline.
Although the director ended it with a joke, there is a possibility that it will actually happen.
However, it turns out that Spielberg is more fascinated by the anti-social component than the 80s ephemera that litters Cline’s book. It will see the return of Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones.
We’ll keep you posted on the story as it progresses.
