Indiana Pacers at Los Angeles Clippers
The Indiana Pacers (10-10) won their previous game against the Los Angeles Clippers on the road on Sunday with a 111-102 victory.
The Pacers finished with 21 assists and just nine turnovers, which helped them have seven players – including all of their starters – score 10 or more points. Thaddeus Young led the way with 17 points while Paul George and Rodney Stuckey each had 16.
Jeff Teague added 15 points and Monta Ellis chipped in 14 for in, which won for the third time in four games. EAnthony Davis, the league’s leading scorer, had 37 points and 15 rebounds for the Pelicans. One sequence that left many observers marveling: Turner didn’t fall for a shot fake by DeMarcus Cousins, then viciously blocked his layup attempt. Now, the Warriors will be keen to come up with a similar game against Indiana Pacers at Oracle Arena in Oakland on Monday.
All told, the Pacers shot just 7-of-22 (31.8 percent) from the floor in the opening quarter. During their November 27 showdown in IN, the Pacers were able to come up with a 91-70 victory over the LA Clippers to help send them on their first three-game losing streak of the 2016-17 season.
While they haven’t been able to maintain the stifling defense that propelled them to a league-best record through the first month of the season, ranking them behind teams like the Bulls, Bucks, and Celtics, as Matt Moore did, unfairly minimizes the 16-6 record that the Clippers have amassed over formidable competition.
These two teams last met on November 20 and it was the Warriors who dominated in a 120-83 blowout, so it’ll be interesting to see what the line will be for this game.
Orlando’s topsy-turvy season continues as they secured their fifth win on the road in Detroit. He can pass, he can rebound, defend, shoot the J, post up, handle the ball. They are 2 in point differential with a +10.5 margin. George had a solid return to the court, scoring 16 points to go along with seven rebounds and five assists.
But their second unit – which mostly has been made up of Raymond Felton, Austin Rivers, Jamal Crawford, Paul Pierce and Marreese Speights as of late – slowed the pace down at the start of the second quarter.
The Pacers will look for the services of Paul George and Jeff Teague, who are quality players in their ranks. The starting line-up will feature Paul George.
The Golden State Warriors are out to a 17-3 record. The Warriors are middle of the pack in other categories such as rebounding (44.1 per game), and points allowed (106.4).
Agree or Disagree with our pick? To a man, the club has never met an adverse officiating decision it liked, and to many, they are nothing more than a gang of underachievers that don’t have what it takes to come out on top.
