Indiana Pastor’s Wife Slain in Home Robbery
Davey Blackburn said he came home to find his wife shot.
Pastor Davey Blackburn, Amanda’s husband, has been cleared as a defendant in the instance.
“My wife was such a attractive, gracious, loving woman of God”, Davey Blackburn said in a written statement on the church’s website.
“I’m sure if you would speak to him he would tell you that was his best friend and at times, his only ally”.
The couple regularly posted about their relationship on social media and shared videos where they answered questions from the congregation of the church that Blackburn founded, Resonate Church, shortly after moving to Indianapolis from SC in January 2012.
“You can ask questions, you can express hurt, anger, frustration”, said Noble, the pastor of NewSpring Church.
A statement released by the church founded by her husband, Davey Blackburn, said someone had broken into the couple’s home.
The Blackburn’s neighbors have been very helpful in the investigation, authorities said, but they stressed that others who might know about the crime need to come forward. The wife, who was 12 weeks pregnant, died at a nearby hospital.
“Let’s continue to support and pray for Davey Blackburn, little Weston, and their entire family as they journey this hard road”. Amanda was probably shot around 6:45 a.m., when neighbors said they heard possible gunshots and a dark SUV sped through the neighborhood.
Lt. Richard Riddle with the Indianapolis Metro Police Department told WTHR that police are looking for a connection between the homicide and another burglary that occurred in the area on the same morning. “I hold firm to the belief that God is still good, that He takes our tragedy and turns it into triumph, and that the best is truly yet to come”, he wrote.
Earlier this week, Amanda Blackburn was murdered in her Indianapolis home, and police believe her death is the result of a home invasion.
Police promised to release a picture of the suspect “in the near future”.
“I can not thank you enough for the unbelievable outpouring of love that you have shared with my family over the past few days”.
Nothing has been said why they believe the killing was due to a robbery and they declined to say if anything had been taken during the alleged robbery. At least three security cameras at other homes – including one inside the burglarized home – captured images of the suspect in what is a normally quiet neighborhood on the city’s northwest side near the Indianapolis Museum of Art.
