Indiana to Release July Employment Report

Pennsylvania’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained steady at 5.4 percent in July with very little change in the number of jobs in the state. Figure 1 below depicts Sri Lanka’s unemployment rate in 2014compared to several selected countries. Orangeburg County had South Carolina’s highest jobless rate, at 12.4 percent. “You have to go back 20 years to mid-1995 to find a similar comparison between the U.S. and Kentucky economies”.

About 85,100 San Diegans were unemployed last month out of a civilian labor force of 1.58 million, according to EDD data. Since July 2014, jobs this sector have expanded by 1,000 positions. So assuming everyone should have a full-time job is also misleading.

In the last month, hospitality jobs grew by 2,100. The industries in this sector include traditional publishing as well as software publishing; motion pictures and broadcasting; and telecommunications.

“Since the beginning of this year, Illinois has gained only a quarter of the job growth seen by the rest of the country”. Meanwhile, logging and mining employers tacked on 300 jobs and information added 200. State reports show that construction, tourism and professional services are among the fastest growing job categories in Orlando. Both goods-producing and service sectors added 2,000 jobs. Hidden within the 4.7% unemployment rate are the specific issues such as huge disparities in unemployment rates across age groups, the noticeable gender gap in Labour Force Participation Rate (LFPR), and underemployment.

The Metropolitan Area Employment and Unemployment news release for July 2015 is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. (EDT). That’s down 5,000 from June, and about 2,000 lower than July 2014. The largest increases occurred in leisure/hospitality, manufacturing, and wholesale trade.
