Indiana unemployment remained at 4.4 percent in November
Ohio’s unemployment rate inched up to 4.5 percent last month, but employers statewide added 9,900 jobs, marking the second month in a row of solid job gains, according to figures released by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services on Friday.
Nebraska’s nonfarm employment rose by 15,300 over the past year to reach almost 1.02 million last month, the state said.
Although more people reported having a job than in October, the labor force grew more quickly, pushing up the number of unemployed people. Construction payrolls grew by 9,000 in November, marking four straight months of growth.

Connecticut’s year-over-year drop in the unemployment rate was among the top half-dozen declines in the nation, according to a Friday report by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Other gainers included local public and private schools, up about 4,000 jobs, and the healthcare/social assistance sector, which added 3,600 jobs.
“Some argue that it is 5 percent, but I was taught that 4 percent is full employment”, Kaza said.
Unemployment rates fell in more than half of USA states in November as employers stepped up hiring.
Without seasonal adjustment, the state rate held steady at 5.9 percent.
In the Central Valley, unemployment continues higher than the state average except in Sacramento County with its large state government employment.
Kaza said an unemployment rate of 5 percent is approaching full employment.
11,000 from October, and up 365,000 from the employment total in November of a year ago.
Over the past 12 months, Manufacturing added 11,600 jobs while Construction added 2,200 jobs.
The greatest decline in employment is in the trade, transportation and utilities sector, which lost 3,100 jobs. There were losses in several sectors, including trade, transportation, and utilities (5,700).
