Indiana University suspends fraternity
The explicit video, believed to have originated on the photo-sharing app Snapchat, was posted online and shared on social media.
In the graphic clip, he is seen performing the sex act on the woman, claimed on a Reddit forum to be a stripper, as a group of his half-naked classmates cheer him on. Other men, also wearing only underwear, sit on the floor nearby.
In a tweet sent out late Wednesday night, the university said it’s committed to a culture of care and revealed the fraternity was suspended immediately pending an investigation into the allegations. “Allegations of hazing that perpetuates sexual misconduct has been made and will be investigated thoroughly”, Land told the network.
Indiana University suspended a fraternity this week after a graphic video of an alleged hazing incident surfaced. Alpha Tau Omega (ATO) is suspended immediately, pending investigation into hazing allegations.
It is not the first time ATO’s Indiana chapter have run into trouble with college authorities.
In 2010, 100 brothers out of 126 were kicked out of the 100-year-old ATO chapter following an investigation into hazing and alcohol abuse at the house.
