Indianapolis Colts’ Andrew Luck Back In, Matt Hasselback Out — NFL News & Rumors
Anderson, though, did not practice and his chances of playing at Houston remain undecided. The Texans will take control early and lean on the defense late.
Luck was listed as a limited participant with his status day to day. If he’s inclined to give up big plays, Hilton will take them. The injury is not considered to be serious. The Colts front office and coaching staff have stated that Luck will be back under center for the Thursday Night Football event broadcast by the NFL Network and CBS. He has spent time with the Buccaneers, Browns, Bengals, and 49ers, as well as spending time with both the Bengals and the Jets this offseason and training camp. He originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons on May 12, 2014. It has gone UNDER in seven of the last nine games between these two teams, but OVER in eight of the last 10 between the two teams in Houston. Glover-Wright re-signed with Green Bay on January 20, 2015 before being waived at the end of training camp.
The key for Luck is that he doesn’t have any setbacks between Tuesday and Thursday.
Chuck Pagano is dealing with injuries to his QB. He’s been a quality run stopper, along with Kendall Langford.
The Jaguars announced the signing of fourth-year LB James-Michael Johnson to the clubs active roster. The rookie was making his first start filling in for LeSean McCoy, who is out indefinitely because of a hamstring injury.
-How quickly can J.J. Watt turn a game? Right guard Brandon Linder went on injured reserve Monday with a torn labrum in his left shoulder.
Though he was a revered figure for a dozen years in Houston, no one really knows what kind of reception he’ll get come Thursday. Hasselbeck was ill on Tuesday and did not practice. Allen did not play last week against Jacksonville.
Luck wasn’t the only Colts quarterback feeling a little under the weather Monday.
Johnson, at 6-3, has disappeared. He saw action with the Brooklyn Bolts of the Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL) in 2014, where he helped the team to a 4-0 mark. He faces a Colts pass defense that is allowing an average of 268 yards per game, good for 22nd in the NFL. Prater played in one game for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013 before being waived on October 21. Prater was originally selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round (156th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft.
While Johnson has drawn much of the attention for his homecoming game, the Texans need to be more concerned with the Colts other Pro Bowl receiver.
Will this be the night the Colts end the streak? Luck has thrown for 753 yards through the Colts’ first three games of the season before sitting out on Sunday against the Jaguars. After four games, the Colts have a barely passing grade, but there is plenty of room for improvement. According to Colts coach Chuck Pagano, there are no limitations with Toler. He is expected to play, but remains a game-time decision. Varga was hurt against Tennessee two weeks ago and has not been cleared to practice or play as of yet.
