Indianapolis pastor’s wife shot during home robbery dies
The Marion County Coroner’s Office announced Blackburn’s cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head, reported the Indianapolis Star.
Her husband, Pastor Davey Blackburn, returned to their home from the gym Tuesday and found his home broken into and his wife on the ground, officials said.
Police are investigating the Indianapolis shooting, but have not revealed whether they have any suspects at this time.
Her one-year-old toddler son was in the house at the time, but was not injured.
Kendale Adams said, “Our detectives believe this was a robbery likely to have gone foul”.
“Amanda and I dropped into this city not knowing where we were gonna live, what we were gonna do, and we just prayed that God would guide us every step of the way”, he said.
“We just talked about vigilance and not laying down for this, and I don’t think anybody in the neighborhood is going to lay down to this we are going to fight this”, said Ryan McConnell, Woods of North Kessler Crime Watch President. The church posted a note to Facebook on Wednesday about the incident.
“I think she would want people to know that the story doesn’t end here that she would want us to do our very best and carry on the mission”, said Barrett.
“At this point I am talking with Davey consistently and trying to determine how our church can best help him and his family in the coming days”, NewSpring Pastor Perry Noble said in a statement. Friends and family said Blackburn is 12-weeks’ pregnant. I know that in her death and legacy even more people will come to a saving faith in Christ.
Police do not suspect Davey Blackburn had anything to do with his wife’s murder. “I know that we’re going to find the people responsible for this and they will be held accountable”.
Police are pursuing leads in the investigation of a deadly home invasion Tuesday that left a pastor’s pregnant wife dead in Indianapolis.
The couple met during a blind date to a Christian rock concert and “pretty much clicked right away”, according to video posted to the church’s website. Her husband had connections to the Upstate and family in the mountains.
A 28-year-old woman was shot and killed during a home invasion this week.
Their comments focused on how to make changes to a relationship when needed, what teenagers should do about personal problems with friends and what the Bible means when it says that a wife should “submit” to their husbands.
