Indianapolis police fatally shoot suspect in carjacking
A 15-year-old carjacking suspect tried to ram Indianapolis cops with a stolen vehicle on Sunday night before they shot him dead, authorities said.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said in a news release that officers spotted a vehicle Sunday night matching the description of one that was carjacked and tried to stop it.
Police gave loud commands to try and get the driver to get out of the auto, but he turned toward officers and accelerated instead, narrowly missing police. We can not lose another young man in this manner without it interrupting our conscious. Green was later found to have violated his probation in July from the case.
Police in Arlington, Texas, said officers arriving to a burglary call found Christian Taylor roaming inside the dealership’s showroom early Friday morning.
“We have some youth who are in need of care, who are in need of services, who are in need to have their community wrap their arms around them to keep them out of harm’s way”, Lloyd said during a Monday afternoon press conference. Green was the driver.
“Because we don’t have any video of that, there’s some people who are going to be distrustful of the police’s account of what happened, wondering what really happened”, Harrison said. “Because not only had this young man demonstrated his propensity to use a firearm, but he also had a vehicle to use as a weapon”.
