Injury forces Keira Knightley to miss Broadway show
It’s been a trying first week for Knightley, who is making her Broadway debut in the production.
Keira Knightley’s play appears to be jinxed after she pulled out on account of injury just days after filing a cops officers report over a heckler.
Broadway fans were left disappointed on Wednesday (07Oct15) after a “minor injury” to Keira Knightley forced Therese Raquin producers to cancel the evening performance of the play.
Roundabout Theatre Company, who are behind the latest version of Emile Zola’s tragic tale and had to call off the October 7 performance, said it expected Keira to return for the October 8 preview.
This isn’t the first time the show has made news even before it officially opens.
In the wake of being escorted back to his seat by a usher, the man was requested that leave by security.
He had reportedly been sitting in the mezzanine area watching the play before going to the railings to shout about a marriage proposals, telling the actress: “Five seconds is too long to wait for a response!”
The cast also includes Gabriel Ebert, Judith Light, Matt Ryan, David Patrick Kelly, Jeff Still, Glynis Bell, Ray Virta, Mary Wiseman, Alex Mickiewicz and Sara Topham. She stared in 2009 comedy The Misanthrope and Lillian Hellman’s The Children’s Hour in 2011.
A year ago she revealed that she tore a muscle running through a door while filming The Imitation Game.
The New York Times reported that the man was taken to a hospital by the police for mental evaluation.
