‘Inside Amy Schumer,’ ‘Broad City’ earn more air time on Comedy Central
2016 is going to be a good year for the ladies on Comedy Central.
“Inside Amy Schumer” will return for a fifth season, while “Broad City” got double the fun with a renewal for its fourth and fifth seasons. Amy Schumer tweeted her excitement and gave a special nod to her new boyfriend Ben Hanish.
Broad City has been a critics’ darling from the start, and now creators Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson will get to continue injecting new life into the “odd couple” trope. The latter is set to debut April 20, following the third season finale of Broad, and will rollout over three consecutive nights. And now, their comedy has been picked up for not one but two(!) more seasons from Comedy Central. Their critically acclaimed show doesn’t even launch its third season until February 17 and has been rewarded with two more. The network has also greenlit a limited series about a time-traveling bong, called Time Traveling Bong, that stars Broad City’s Ilana Glazer and Paul Downs as cousins who discover the titular bong and “ride high as they blaze through time“. But when the bong breaks-as all bongs do-they are stuck traveling around the space-time continuum.
