Instagram rolls out two-factor authentication to protect users
The new security feature will allow users to add and verify a phone number to login along with the usual password protection. The feature is not visible in Android or iOS apps in India for now. The version rolling out now, though, is your typical two-factor that texts authentication codes whenever you log in. This will enable a user to still gain access to their account as long as they save or do a screen capture of the reset code in the beginning of the process.
Mobile security is more important these days than before, and companies like Google have implemented ways to better security for their users with methods like Two Factor Authentication. Two-factor authentication has now become a commonly offered security tool.

Instagram’s parent company Facebook has the feature for more than four years. This is no more as they will also need to have your phone number too. In the case of brands, hacking attack can mess up their reputation with the public and hurt sales. Instagram is way behind the trend here, but it looks like tween’s second-favorite photo network is finally getting with the times. Instagram says phone verification will be rolling out “slowly”. Similar to Facebook, one can not access others’ photos if the account is private.
