International Yoga Day: China’s Wuxi hosts 3500 yoga lovers
The United Nations General Assembly declared June 21 as the International Day of Yoga on December 11 in 2014 after a call from the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi during his address to UN General Assembly on September 27.
Talking to reporters after attending an Iftar party in Lucknow, Singh said nearly 191 countries across the world celebrated International Yoga Day previous year.
Meanwhile, preparations are on in full swing across the country and overseas to celebrate the International Day of Yoga tomorrow, as people were seen holding rehearsals on a large scale besides other cultural events.
“It is our pleasure to bring together a large number of diverse Houstonians and institutions for celebrating the annual International Yoga Day in a befitting manner”, Consul General of India Anupam Ray told PTI.

In India, as many as 57 Union ministers will spread across the country for the 2nd International Yoga Day programmes, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi performing the exercise in Chandigarh.
The Common Yoga Protocol will begin at 7.00 am and will end at 7.45 am.
The Indian High Commission in Britain held a session at Potters Fields Park, Tower Bridge in London.
In a precursor to Yoga Day, the Indian mission will host “Conversation with Yoga Masters” that will “seek to enrich our collective understanding of the unique features of Yoga and its role for the achievement of SDGs”.
Over the years yoga has become popular all over China.
The practice of Yoga is increasingly spreading all over the world.
