Interview with ESPN host about Cavs in NBA Finals
To be honest, these two franchises are the best in the National Basketball Association by far, and the convincing style in which they have reached the finals is a clear proof. And while under contract for the Golden State Warriors, he’s still getting money from the Cavaliers as part of his 2013 deal.
It’s a star-studded final – there are seven players who were all-stars this season, and 11 players who’ve been all-stars in their careers.
The more often the teams met on the big stage, the more heated the rivalry became. The New York Giants got the best of the New York Yankees in back-to-back seasons, winning the World Series in 1921 and 1922. That kind of contract has allowed teams like the Cleveland Cavaliers to make the NBA Finals for the third consecutive time, and it could allow the Warriors to make this a Cavs/Warriors Final for a while.
Now, both teams are rested, healthy and ready to put on a show.
“When you lose to a team, you want to see that team again”, Green said. “We’re definitely excited about it”.
“People just automatically think that, ‘Man, this guy ain’t from the hood”.
Giving us subplot two: the Mike Brown revenge finals. “But you can never bet against LeBron”. Despite winning the 2015 National Basketball Association title, the team is seeking redemption after losing in heartbreaking fashion in the 2016 finals. Many of you are going to be watching just for that reason. “That’s the only pressure I worry about”.
Who knows? He’s a very different player than Michael Jordan was, so it’s hard to pick one over the other, especially because there’s no objective way to quantify their respective careers.
“You can look at Golden State and how they’re playing, it’s pretty dominant”, Minnesota Timberwolves coach Tom Thibodeau said on Tuesday. This series is likely to be a three point shooting contest and the Warriors only average 24% from three compared to the Cavs who still bring in about 38% from distance after this much time off.
Can the Cavaliers defend the Warriors? . A year ago, the Warriors would have shrugged their shoulders and lived to play another day. “I loved it back then”, said Cooper, who now coaches the Atlanta Dream in the WNBA.
And a big part of that was Draymond Green, a perennial Defensive Player of the Year candidate, whose been chomping at the bit since the beginning of the season. From there, the individual growths from their 3 All-Stars have pushed them to heights unforeseen even from the largest Warrior homers. In a series where Cleveland outscored Boston by a hundred total points, they were lights out on the perimeter but when push came to shove, that’s exactly what they did.
“We’re going to face adversity”, James said.
According to the odds makers in Las Vegas and the number crunchers at analytical sites, the Warriors are the clear favorites to win the series after sweeping their way through the playoffs with a record-setting margin of victory of 16.3 points per game. Joining Golden State and forming a super-team in the offseason was a move that earned him a good share of criticisim.
There is LeBron James in the Finals for the seventh straight time with two different teams.
“I’m just trying to be the best me I can be”.
To keep them together, the team will need some help from Kevin Durant, and it sounds like he’s willing to give it to them.
And Warriors coach Steve Kerr agrees.
It will have a rippling effect on the legacies of several players, notably LeBron James and Kevin Durant. To the victor goes the spoils and many, many bragging rights. The series already has a place in history and maybe now it’s just about creating a series that provides memories.
That’s about it for forced connections, but the fact that the sequel was titled Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior is too much of a coincidence to simply overlook. “I try not to focus on that either”. But eventually, these teams made just an occasional shining.
Mikash: LeBron’s legacy is fairly cemented.
