Intoxicated Ky. man tried to dig up dad’s grave
The Sheriff’s Office says May’s father has been dead for thirty years.
A drunk man was arrested after sheriff’s deputies said he tried to dig up his late father’s grave so that he could have an argument with him.
Deputies say the man had been digging up a grave of one of his family members.
His friends told police that they were afraid what May would have done if police had not caught him in the act.
Michael Dale May, 44, of Somerset was being held Wednesday in the Lincoln County Regional Jail on $1,000 cash bond on charges of violating graves, public intoxication and possession of marijuana.
“He started hollering out [Bible] verses at me”, Mitchell said. “He told me he was trying to dig his dad up, so his dad could go to heaven”.
Speaking to LEX 18 from his Lincoln County jail cell, he insisted he done “nothing wrong”, adding: “I see the truth”.
Asked if he would try to dig up his dad’s grave again, he said: “It’s a possibility”.
According to Wave3, it’s possible that it wasn’t even his own father’s grave that he was violating.
