Introduction, first match gameplay
Not the least of which is the revelation today that Metal Gear Solid V’s online multiplayer, Metal Gear Online, is selling insurance for your Forward Operating Bases, or FOBs. The MGS5 TPP update has also brought new ways for Konami to cash-in on players via a money making scheme similar to Clash of Clans.
Not one to court controversy of any kind, Konami has revealed a few new DLC additions that are bound to go unnoticed on social media, including two aesthetic add-ons for your horse (yes, actual horse armour, what a lark!).
Once you have your very own new FOB, other players online can attack your base, steal your staff, and basically take away all the things you just spent money being able to collect. Enemies can still invade your base and steal everything, however, the insurance will replace a few of the things you lose during the invasion. This makes Clash of Clans’ monetization scheme look friendlier.
Currently, 100 MB coins is $0.99 Dollars, with slight price-cuts if you buy in bulk. You can spend 50 coins on a 24 hour insurance or 300 coins for coverage to last you a fortnight.
It’s never come to be though, and it’s still unclear whether he’ll even be working at Konami by the end of the year. Users can now skip the waiting time for combat deployment online for a price.
